Plan Then Build

Start in Plan mode to research and design, then switch to Build mode to implement

MeshMesh has two modes: Plan and Build. The recommended workflow is to start in Plan mode, get a solid plan approved, then switch to Build mode to execute.

Why Plan First?

Complex Salesforce implementations have many moving parts. Rushing into build can lead to missing dependencies, overwriting existing configurations, or rework when you discover requirements mid-implementation.

Plan mode lets the agent explore your org, understand what exists, and design an approach that fits your reality.

The Two Modes

Plan mode can read, explore, analyze, and propose — but cannot modify external systems. This is intentional. You review and approve before anything changes.

Build mode can deploy, create, modify, and execute. That's why you want a solid plan first.

The Workflow

  1. Start in Plan mode — For complex implementations, choose Plan mode when creating a new task
  2. Review the plan — Ask questions, request changes, or ask for clarification
  3. Approve and switch to Build — When it looks good, say "let's build it"

You can switch back to Plan mode anytime if you need to rethink the approach.

When to Use Plan Mode

Use Plan mode for:

  • Multi-step implementations
  • Anything that touches multiple systems
  • Tasks where you're not sure what exists in the org
  • Implementations with dependencies

Skip Plan mode for:

  • Simple queries and analysis
  • Quick content creation
  • Straightforward tasks you know exactly how to do
