MeshMesh
Core Concepts

Agents

Agents are AI assistants designed for long-running planning and execution to achieve a goal in your Salesforce environment.

An agent in MeshMesh is an AI assistant designed to accomplish a specific goal or objective. While you can use MeshMesh for quick questions, agents are really built to execute work for you — implementing a Sales Cloud configuration, building an Agentforce assistant, analyzing your pipeline, or cleaning up data across your org.

When you create an agent, you're giving it a mission. The agent figures out the steps needed, connects to your Salesforce org, and works through the objective. You can watch its progress, provide guidance when it asks questions, and review what it produces.

Plan Mode vs Build Mode

MeshMesh offers two ways to work depending on how much oversight you want.

Plan Mode gives the agent read-only access to your connections. It can analyze your org, access the web for research, and create a detailed plan — but it won't make any changes until you switch to Build Mode. You see exactly what it intends to do, review the plan, ask for modifications, and then decide whether to proceed.

Build Mode lets the agent make changes to your org. The agent starts executing as soon as you describe what you want — faster for straightforward tasks when you already know what you need.

You can switch between modes anytime from the mode selector.

Skills

Agents have deep expertise in Salesforce products through skills. When an agent uses a skill, it has access to APIs, best practices, and implementation patterns for that product.

SkillWhat It Does
Data CloudData streams, segments, activation targets, identity resolution, queries
AgentforceAI agents, GenAI functions, plugins, planners, deployment
Marketing CloudJourneys, emails, data extensions, automations, transactional messaging
Marketing Cloud NextMC Next segments, bulk contact ingestion, identity resolution
MetadataApex, Flows, LWC, custom objects, profiles, permission sets

The agent automatically selects the right skill based on your request. You can also explicitly ask for one.

Connected Systems

Through integrations, agents can connect to:

  • Salesforce orgs — Read and deploy metadata, query data, manage configurations
  • Marketing Cloud instances — Content Builder, journeys, automations, data extensions
  • Data Cloud — Data streams, segments, identity resolution, activation targets

Artifacts and References

Agents work with two types of content:

Artifacts are outputs agents create — charts, reports, emails, tables, documents. These are the deliverables you asked for or outputs generated along the way. Learn more about artifacts.

References are inputs you provide — brand kits, requirements, data files, examples. These help agents understand your context and produce better results. Learn more about references.
